Instead of going in for the kill, this mother orca spins the sea turtle, holds it beneath the surface, and drags it by the flipper as her calf watches on. Researchers examining this footage captured in the Gulf of California believe it may be evidence of teaching, rather than an orca simply playing with her food—especially since orca calves spend a great deal of time by their mothers' side during their infancy.
