With its vibrant colors, the eye of an Edwards's fig parrot fills the frame in this photograph by @joelsartore. The image was taken at Loro Parque Fundación in the Canary Islands. Native to the island of New Guinea, this forest-dwelling bird feeds on fruit, nectar, and possibly insects, and is comfortable living near human settlements.
