Big data delivered for hospital administrators and insurance companies but not necessarily for patients. DJ Patil warns that AI is starting to follow the same pattern. On the bright side, two-thirds of physicians are already using AI tools clinically and patients are turning to ChatGPT to manage their own health history. The opportunity is real, but so is the risk of getting the incentives wrong again.
