A dozen political and artificial intelligence leaders gathered at a summit in New Delhi on Thursday, at the end of which Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi beckoned for everyone to join hands and present a united front. Everyone complied. Except OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, who refused to grab hands, exchanged a brief moment of awkward eye contact, and instead raised fists.
