Evidently believing “RoboCop” was a love letter to the Motor City, a Detroit suburb has launched a system that sends drones to service calls before officers — providing a sort of high-tech vulture to hover over citizens. Police officials in Dearborn claim the program “acts as a force multiplier, ensuring we cut down on response time.” The company that made them says the drones are already active in 1,000 American police departments.
