Heesu always knew he wanted to pursue a career helping people. Growing up in small fishing villages in South Korea, he saw the effects of poverty and inequality on his friends. Although somewhat rare for men in South Korea, Heesu became a pediatric ICU nurse. “Nurses accompany patients at the bedside," he said. "We do direct interventions to cure their illnesses.
